2023 has been a massive year for me. At the end of 2022, I departed my 9-to-5 and transitioned to teaching and making work full time. Slowly but surely, over the course of the year, I have gained hundreds of hours of instruction time at three local studios, developed lots of new curricula, taught dozens of workshops, and built out a pack of handouts that’s starting to look like a zine. I know 2024 will hold many surprises and new connections. As of Mid October, I finally have studio access and some financial security to pursue this career. I am very grateful to the mentors, peers, students, and friends (and all the ways those groups intersect!) who have encouraged me along the way. I’m hoping that 2024 will let me return to my roots as a hand builder, but I have learned so much from the time I spent teaching wheel this year. Please enjoy these images of recent work! Cheers —- Sara.
